YourWorld is local-first. You can build and use a map without an account. This policy explains what stays on your device, what optional features send, and how to remove it.
Your map on this device
Your stops, line names, schedules, layout, preferences, and undo history are processed in your browser. The current map is saved in browser storage when storage is available. A backup file is created only when you choose to download one. Clearing browser data can remove the browser copy.
Optional account and sync
If you continue with Google, Google provides YourWorld with an account identifier, email address, and possibly a profile image. Private sync stores stop and line names, schematic positions, schedules, exceptions, and sync metadata in Supabase. Exact latitude and longitude are deliberately omitted from sync and have no sync database columns.
Project administrators and the hosting/database operators can have privileged access needed to operate and secure the service. Other users and anonymous visitors cannot read your private sync rows. Sign-in and sync session information is kept in your browser so a signed-in session can be restored.
Optional World contribution
World sharing is off by default. If you opt in, YourWorld converts located stops on your device into fixed 1 km cells, generic categories such as Work or Fitness, broad day periods, and unordered coarse flows. It does not send exact coordinates, personal place names, or ordered full routes.
The private contribution rows are tied to your account so you can replace or delete them. The public World receives only one canonical aggregate query. A place, period, or flow is released only when at least five distinct accounts share it. If you opt out, YourWorld removes your contribution rows.
Speech recognition
If you use the microphone, speech recognition is provided by your browser. Depending on the browser, audio may be processed by the browser vendor or its recognition service. YourWorld receives transcript events and does not receive or store the audio.
Service providers
YourWorld uses Google for optional sign-in, Supabase for optional authentication and private data storage, and Cloudflare to serve the site. Those providers process technical data under their own terms and policies. Normal server and security logs may include IP address, browser details, request time, and errors. YourWorld does not use behavioral analytics or third-party client error reporting at launch.
Retention and deletion
Synced data and World contributions are kept until you remove the cloud copy or delete your account. Both choices are available from the Account menu; the map on your current device remains unless you separately clear it. The cloud copy is a convenience replica rather than an archive: it is not currently covered by scheduled database backups, so a map that matters to you should also be kept as a downloaded backup. Backups you downloaded remain under your control. If scheduled backups are introduced later, deleted cloud data could persist in them until they expire, and this policy will say so.
Your choices
- Use the map without signing in.
- Keep exact location placement off.
- Leave World sharing off or remove your contribution at any time.
- Download a backup before clearing browser or cloud data.
- Delete the cloud copy or the entire account from the Account menu.
